There are tons of marketers who “do PPC” advertising, but the percentage who have full understanding of how it works is small. PPC has crossed the minds of more people than those who actually do it. Unfortunately, for many, PPC remains a largely mysterious form of advertising.

It seems like a good idea but there are so many reports about it being expensive and not having much success. How do you know if it is right for you? How do you think you can succeed with PPC while others have failed so miserably? Here is how to approach pay per click advertising to ensure your marketing success.

Consider the overall cost of your campaign. It might not appear like a lot of money, spending a nickel on a single click. A nickel per click can still be quite expensive once you have done the calculations. You will find that 20 clicks work out to a dollar. After a bit of math, you will find that a hundred clicks will set you back five dollars. Remember how many people come online and consider that a lot of people will click on your ad for no other reason than the fact that it looks interesting. Do you have that much money to spend? Prior to accepting or bidding on a campaign you need to make sure you do the math. You could end up owing lots of money!

You need to keep a close watch on your ads. It is vital that you track your advertisements. It is not enough to track a campaign. You must keep track of each individual ad. There are several services out there that will help you do this. You can also check with your advertising company to see if they have a system to help with tracking. Google Adwords is at present the most widely used PPC system. Google offers lots of services to help you track whether your ads and campaigns are successful or not.

Always test different ads in your campaigns. You won’t have much time or room to get their attention because the ads are very short with very little text allowed. So you’ll need to very quickly get attention and persuade them to click on your ad. If you put together a few different ads in each campaign you can test to see which ads yield the best results. This will help you with your future campaigns because you’ll become a better ad writer.

It is possible to become successful with PPC easily. Even though PPC has been used for quite a while people still fear it might be too complicated, that is if they remember its existence. It is possible even for novice internet marketers to find success with PPC campaigns. You need to learn as much as you can before throwing any money at something you don’t understand. The more you know and learn, the better your chances of becoming successful. Good luck! You can achieve anything!

Google has recently announced a new Adwords interface that we’ve had a chance to beta test and found it to be a vast improvement in managing single campaigns.

The new Adwords interface was built in response to the Adwords user community who needed a method for getting their work done faster. Among the many new and improved feature set:

Faster Account Navigation

  • Browse your campaigns and ad groups at once in a new account tree
  • Compare performance easily by jumping between ad groups

Track Performance Efficiently

  • Use Custom Graphs to chart trends in up to two metrics at once
  • Filter your data to focus on the keywords that matter most

Find New Optimization Opportunities

  • Use roll-up tabs to find your biggest opportunities for improvement
  • Get new keyword ideas with easier access to search query reports
  • Add negative keywords quickly to refine your targeting

Spend Less Time Making Changes

  • Edit bids and keywords without loading a separate page
  • Change keyword match types with a new drop-down menu
  • Make bulk edits with just a few clicks

Get More Out of the Content Network

  • Check your performance on individual sites on the new Networks tab
  • Adjust your bids for different placements based on performance
  • Exclude placements that aren’t working for you

The biggest time savers that we have found are the Account Tree, In-line Editing.  The Account Tree allows you to quickly navigate to any campaign or ad group from any page in your account.  In-line editing allows you to click & edit without having to navigate away from the page you’re on.  The Networks Tab is useful for comparing your ads’ performance on Google, search partner sites and the Google Content Network.

Google has listened to what Adwords clients need and has delivered very well.  If you do not have an Adwords account, sign up at http://adwords.google.com  – and then download our free white paper, Adwords Survival Guide.

**If you’re a marketing firm needing to manage multiples of Adwords accounts and ad groups for numerous clients, sorry but you will still need a more robust solution…

The announcement today that over a half million jobs were lost in the month of November is startling news, especially considering that since the start of the year 1.8 million Americans have lost their jobs.  The country has its highest unemployment rate since October 1993.  Unemployment has risen by .2 percent to 6.7 percent.  What this means for a business online?  If you don’t already have a comprehensive marketing campaign, then you need to get one NOW.

For most businesses, what you do not want is paid advertising.  Adwords are effective under extremely narrow circumstances.  Banner ads stopped working around the turn of the century.  Link exchanges are… pardon me while I stop laughing…

There are NUMEROUS ways you can market a business online using highly effective, proven strategies.  Kinetics Web Pro is expert at getting your site to the top of the search engines, and that’s a big part of any website’s monetary success.  We’re also expert at SEO content, a specific form of content designed to do well in the search engines AND add something of value to your site; if you’re still pumping out random words or repeating key phrases dozens of times on your pages, not only will your readers shun you, but Google will ban you.  Thank goodness for Google — don’t you just hate those sites that try those goofy “spammy” tactics?

Sometimes it’s in the worst of times that we find out what we’re made of, and that can be a very good thing.  Unfortunately, sometimes in the worst of times there are people who are out to prey on our weaknesses and sell us all types of things that really don’t serve our interests, but exploit our fears.

Kinetics Web Pro uses proven strategies that are time-tested and evergreen; they will work six months or two years from now, and keep on working.

If you pay attention to the news (and you should), you’re probably freaked out right about now.  Give yourself a minute to freak out, and then remember that the job of the news is to A) scare us (because it’s good for their ratings), and then inform us just enough to B) See A.

There IS a way out.  Sit down with us for five minutes and you’ll see we’re the real deal.  We’re here to help.  We’ll create an online investment that will help you grow your offline business.  And if you already have a website that has never made you money, we understand.  We hear that a lot.  It’s a lot better feeling knowing your little website is churning out hundreds or thousands of dollars a month in profit with very little effort on your part.  There will be a lot of people talking about unemployment today.  But let’s talk about you making some money — isn’t that a more pleasant conversation?  It’s certainly more productive.

YouTube Pay-Per-Click Announced

Big news from YouTube on Wednesday — they announced new Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. YouTube is the #2 search engine and the #3 most visited website in the world; to be able to reach that audience on a KEYWORD LEVEL is a fantastic opportunity for marketers.

YouTube Pay Per Click works much the same way as Google Adwords, and actually interfaces with your Google account for billing purposes. You choose keywords that relate to your campaign / promotion and decide how much you’re willing to spend per click, as well as how much you cap your per-day spending. You also write an ad like you do with Adwords. But then you also pick a video to display to the viewer once they click on your ad.

Here’s a step by step overview of how you would do it…

Log in to YouTube and select whether you want o promote an individual video or your whole channel. Hint: Kinetics Web Pro says it’s better to create individual campaigns for each video because you can target keywords more specifically (thereby lowering your ad expenditure) and reach a more qualified prospect (thereby increasing your conversion), plus you have that many more videos / ads “working” for you. :-)

Choose a video with a definite call to action at the end (“Visit my site at KineticsWebPro.com”) and a reason why the viewer should do what you’re asking — some kind of incentive like free information, a discount on services, a coupon, etc.

Write your ad — similar to Adwords, you get 3 lines with the first line at 25 characters and the next two at 35 characters. UNLIKE Adwords, you won’t see a “display URL” or “destination URL” because people who click on your ad will go to your video page, not an outside site. Hint: remember what we said about that call to action — pretty crucial!

Choose your keywords or search terms you want to place a bid on. The system will display all the keyword phrases you used when you uploaded your video, and it will even suggest a few others. If you bid high enough, your ad will appear any time someone searches for these keywords on YouTube. Million dollar hint: target, target, target! You’re looking for one specific person hundreds of times, not hundreds of people. (If you take that to heart, you probably just saved you enough money to run your next campaign for free with that tip.)

Set your daily budget and your maximum cost per click. It’ s a click not a promise to watch your video, so make sure your content is interesting from the first frame.

Exciting news from YouTube. Paid traffic is one resource to consider in your arsenal of marketing your website, but there are NUMEROUS organic marketing methods that Kinetics Web Pro is expert in using, and we invite you to read through this website for more information, and join our mailing list for regular updates.
